Instrument Rating Instructor
Course objective
The course aims to give the resources to the candidate in order to train other pilots to get their IR(A).
Training program
Training program includes:
- 25 hours of theorical instruction
10 hours of technical training, including a knowledge revision and the ability to prepare and conduct a lesson - 10 Dual flight hours (5 if the candidate already holds FI(A) certificate)
Credits
FI(A) holders are not required to covers the 1st part (teaching and learning) as described in part AMC.FCL.1.395
Privileges
The privileges of an IRI are to instruct for the issue, revalidation and renewal of an IR on the appropriate aircraft category.
Requirements
Pilots who want to apply to get IRI(A) shall:
- Hold a valid medical certificate
- Have flown at least 800 hours under
- IFR rules of which 400 of them on airplanes
- Pass successfully the course

- Aeroclub membership and one year valid membership fee
- Airport security training and permission to entry for one person
- Training material
- Theorical training
- Practical training
